DISCOVERY COUNTRY SUITES

My sister and I stayed at Discovery Country Suites in Tagaytay. I just wanted to share the delightful experience we had during our stay.

We both availed of the complimentary overnight accommodation which was included in the membership package when I got a Lifestyle Plus Card. Once you enter the door of this quaint establishment, you suddenly feel the homey atmosphere, which was quite surprising since the hotel is just steps away from the national highway. We were greeted by gracious members of the staff, and were treated to a welcome drink. We were immediately escorted to our room, Ceylon, an Oriental inspired room.

Ceylon

The suites are well appointed, each having a different theme. Ceylon, along with Saint Tropez and Andalucia, were considered the standard rooms. The other suites, Nara, Siam, Oxford and Nantucket, were bigger in floor area and, I figured had more upscale amenities. But we were completely satisfied with Ceylon. We then borrowed several DVDs to watch in the DVD Library, to pass time. We also used the WiFi, which was complimentary and available in the Main Dining Area

View from the Dining Area

Did you imagine even in your wildest dreams you could access the internet with this view as your backdrop?

and in the Den (yup, it was like living in a grand mansion!)

See Minik seriously surfing the internet for wedding stuff

After a hard day’s work, we partook of the wine and cheese buffet, which was also part of the package. We enjoyed the buffet too much that my sister was so dizzy afterwards…

Cheese Galore!

So, the cheeses served as prelude to our dinner. We stayed at Verbena to taste the dishes. Here are pictures of what we ordered.

Loved it!

Black Pepper Fettucini- This dish was heavenly! Homemade pasta with Smoked Bacon, Roasted Garlic and Portabella Mushrooms. Who cares if I ate pasta the meal before, I was just too happy to eat pasta again.

Chicken Delight

My sister ate the Country Chicken Duo, served with Grilled Veggies and Creamy Potato Puree. Another tasty treat! I got to use my Lifestyle Plus Card for a 20% discount! Grand!

After the dinner, we rested and watched a little TV. Then we called in for a massage at our room. A Swedish Aromatherapy Massage costs P900. No regrets! To finish things for the day, milk and cookies were delivered to our room and guest services wished us a good night sleep! Zzzzzzzzz…

The next day, we woke up to a cloudy drizzling day. But the weather didn’t dampen our spirits at the sight of the extensive country breakfast specials, once again part of the package. Each option came with a Bread basket, Fruit Juice, Fresh Fruits for Dessert and a choice of Coffee, Tea or Hot Chocolate. My sister picked the Country Pancakes, served with Scrambled Eggs, Breakfast bangers and Smoked Bacon.

I chose the Crunchy French Toast, an interesting twist to the Breakfast Classic, filled with a mix of Nutella and Strawberry Preserves.

Wow, what a gastronomic trip, wasn’t it? Our stay at Discovery Country Suites was one of the best. Aside from the cool air and beautiful hotel, the food and the service were fantastic. The staff attended to our every need. They made us feel right at home.

I felt that availing of the Lifestyle Plus membership was a good deal, especially after staying at Country Suites. Regular room rates start at P10000. But they have an ongoing promo wherein you can get this package for P5500++ per room, per night. I assure you, you won’t regret staying there. I highly recommend this place!
