Kimpura, Greenhills Shopping Center

Some things never change…

When my family craves for Japanese food, and we know that we never can drag my dad into a restaurant with long lines during Sunday lunch, we know we always can rely on… KIMPURA!

It’s been years since our entire family ventured into the Sunday crowd in Greenhills. We heard mass there, we planned to watch the movie Ratatouille at the Promenade and of course, we ate at good old, reliable Kimpura!

We always chose the Misono table. We just loved eating teppanyaki there. This time, they had set menus for tables of 6 and 10. For a hungry bunch like us, we chose Set Menu 1, which came with old time favorites Kani Kyuri Salad and Miso Soup:

Tuna Sashimi

Maguro Sashimi

Assorted Sushi

Nigiri Sushi

Prawns Teppanyaki

Cuttlefish Teppanyaki

Yasai Itame

Black Angus Ribeye teppanyaki

An Assortment of Prawns, Cuttlefish, Chicken, Vegetable and Black Angus Ribeye Teppanyaki

Yakimeshi (Mixed Fried Rice) cooked on the spot

coffee jelly

The best coffee jelly ever!

Wow, what a feast isn’t it? The entire meal, with drinks for group of 7 cost about P7500. Hefty sum, but was all worth it! Plus I got to pose with the misono wizards! 🙂

I used to work there in Accounting (Makati branch). I really enjoyed my time there in the 80s and was able to go and visit in 1988. The staff are wonderful and treat you like family.
